America, the new gulag?

America under the Bush regime has descended into an all time low in human rights and abuses of power.

Recently it scored sixth among non European countries in citizen privacy rights and protections and 30th overall!. More disturbing it scored lower than all but one EU nation. The top EU nation was Germany(!) and the top non-EU nation was Canada. Canada scored second overall. Only Canada and Germany scored a 'green' rating overall.
See the list here http://www.privacyinternational.org/survey/phr2005/phr2005spread.jpg
Note that the US only has a half point lead over Russia and a 0.6 point lead on China. Nothing to be proud of.

Maybe after the US descends into it's own fascist nightmare it will learn the same lessons that Germany apparently did after it's fascist experiment.

The video link is a video taken by a student in the UCLA library. A middle eastern student was reading with several other dozen students in the library. He was singled out and demanded to produce ID. The campus police tazered him multiple times for failing to produce ID and not wanting to leave.

The mainstream media refuses to cover the amount, and depth of abuse of the citizenry in the name of "national security" and "anti-terrorism", but even a simple google search will lead you to enough incidents to make you sick. From the dozens of detention camps, inside the US, to the abuse of police powers, to the frivolous overuse of the charge of terrorism (see the lawnmower neighbor in a previous post) and the removal of habaeus corpus, a cornerstone of civilization and justice.

Never mind God Bless America. God Help America!
